2012-           Adjunct Professor, Syracuse University

I worked as the teacher of record for the Plastics Fabrication Research, Fabrication Skills & Methods: Wood, and Principles of Industrial Form 1. During these classes I was responsible for developing course content, syllabi, teaching students introductory to advanced techniques. During the Plastics class I was responsible for teaching students introductory to advanced mold making techniques, pressure plastic casting, thermoplastic fabrication, and contemporary sculptural concepts. The Fabrication Skills & Methods: Wood class I taught introductory to advanced wood working techniques using both hand and machine tools. The students produced functional original designed pieces of furniture using techniques they learned during the class. The Principles of Industrial Form 1 class focused on developing design concepts, elements, and material exploration.

 

2009-2012   Graduate Teaching Assistant and Shop Technician, Syracuse University

I worked as the teacher of record for the Plastics Fabrication Research and the Dimensional Arts class. I also worked as the wood and metal shop monitor. During the Plastics class I was responsible for teaching students introductory to advanced mold making techniques, pressure plastic casting, thermoplastic fabrication, and contemporary sculptural concepts. For the Dimensional arts class I introduced the students to multiple materials from plaster, cardboard, wood and metals; focusing on material exploration and idea development through introductory 3D concepts. While working as the Shop Technician my responsibilities included monitoring student interaction with machines, answering technical questions, metal fabrication, and wood fabrication.

I was the main fabricator of a scale replica of the tank built for Che Guevara to be used in the Cuban Revolutionary War. My responsibilities included welding, finishing, painting, and fabricating steel works.
